Common Core Math: Kindergarten

In kindergarten, students learn the names of numbers up to one hundred, count the numbers of objects in groups and learn to represent and perform addition and subtraction with numbers up to 10. Students begin to form an understanding of place value by decomposing numbers from 11 to 19 into 10 plus some number of ones. Students also describe and categorize objects, including common geometric shapes, in terms of a variety of attributes such as length or weight.
