Common Core Math: Kindergarten: Measurement & Data

In kindergarten, students describe measurable attributes of objects such as length and weight. Students compare and describe the differences between attributes of two objects, using words like "shorter" and "taller" or "lighter" and "heavier." Given a group of objects, students categorize the objects based on a given attribute. Once they have sorted the objects, kindergarten students count the number of objects in each category so that they can then sort the categories by size.
