Common Core Math: Grade 3: Fractions

In third grade, students develop an understanding of fractions as numbers that represent parts of a whole. Students locate fractions on a number line by marking off equal lengths between whole numbers. With the help of number lines, pie charts and other visual models, students also identify equivalent fractions and compare fractions with the same numerator or denominator.
