MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) é uma sigla que nos países de língua inglesa signi ca Tempo Médio Entre Falhas. Aqui no Brasil podemos encontrar a sigla em Inglês e a sigla em Português (TMEF), as duas formas são muitos comuns embora a primeira seja mais utilizada. MTBF é a média dos tempos existentes entre o m de uma falha e início de outra (a próxima falha) em equipamentos reparáveis.
